My Story
I grew up in central Illinois where I spent most of my childhood competing in dance and gymnastics. Throughout my teenage years I had ups and downs with my weight and self-esteem. I went through years of disordered eating until switching to a vegetarian diet. From time to time I still go through periods of bingeing or eating too little. I understand that ones relationship with food is sensitive, and I help my clients work through their own nutritional issues.
After graduating high school and moving to Los Angeles, I gained 30-40 pounds over the course of a year. This weight gain left me feeling very uncomfortable in my body, but instead of reverting back to my disordered eating, I got serious about my workouts. I trained myself and lost all the weight. However, as many of you know losing those extra pounds is only half the battle. Maintaining the weight loss is another obstacle. I have managed to maintain my weight, continue to gain muscle and get more confident in my body with each workout.
My expertise
I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Women's Fitness Specialist, Yoga Instructor, and Precision Nutrition Diet Coach. I specialize in weight loss, strength training, and corrective exercise. I work with individuals of all fitness levels. Many of my clients come to me with health issues including: obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and low muscle mass. With my extensive background and studies, I have great knowledge of the body. I know how important a well-rounded workout program is. I create workouts that combine strength training and cardio for maximum muscle gain and fat burn. I put my clients on a corrective exercise program to help them with their aches and pains. I know how to safely take anyone through a workout. Over the years I have learned how to modify and advance any exercise to make it work in all potential scenarios.
In 2013 I created MFit to help people of all shapes and sizes get healthy. I am motivated by my clients and want to help as many people as possible make positive changes in their lives. In 2018 I created the MFit Membership, which is an online program that anyone can utilize as a cost-effective way to: lose body fat, increase lean body mass, and live a healthy life.
